On Holidays and Life

I went to a party last night, a Christmas party with munchies, and cider, and a bit of play. We're all a bit of a fan of the juggling scene, and we spent a couple hours outside playing with poi, juggling balls, glowsticks, s-curves, and just having fun. We even filmed a video. I'll upload it here once Raven finishes it up.

I spent most of my time playing with the s-curves, they're kind of fun, and Raven and I plan on making a better pair after Christmas. These one's kept falling apart on me.

I know I've got a Fushigi under the tree, although it's not the glow in the dark one that I wanted. Oh well. It'll be a decent practice ball for now. I will eventually get a good contact juggling ball, if just because Stooshie and Raven make me. Not that I really mind.

My nephew is a handful, and very rambunctious. It should be fun on Christmas morning when he opens up all his presents.

Hopefully they'll entertain him long enough for us to play Lego Harry Potter for the Wii!

I'll try to update after the Holidays, but no promises.

Have a Merry Christmas.

Travel Summary

So, the trip to New York went well, although I was really tired by the time we got done.

We went to the American Girl Store, The Statue of Liberty, Central Park, 5th Avenue, and a few other little places. It was a blast, and I got to ride in a limo on the way back to the airport. I can't wait to go back.

Travel Update.

So, we made it to Denver without too much trouble, and now we just have a few last minute details to take care of. Mostly packing. We're only taking carry-on's so it kind of limits what we can take.

Still, it aught to be fun. Our flight leaves at 8:20, but we're going to be up a whole lot earlier. Like 5 o'clock earlier. :( I really don't like getting up early, but I have a can of Coke with my name on it, so hopefully I won't be too snarky. No guarantees.

I'll update when I can. Love you all.

Travel

So, tomorrow I leave. We'll drive all day to get to Denver, and then on Saturday, get on a plane to go to New York.

Things are pretty hectic here, what with packing and what not. Mum gets pretty stressed when we travel, especially when it comes to airplane travel. Me on the other hand, well, I'm a Sagittarius, and there's nothing I love more than traveling.

Life

I've been busy, but I suppose that's not really a good reason not to update. Sorry.

Anyways, so I've had choir rehearsals for about a month or so now, and they're going pretty good so far, but we're still at the beginning of things. Not into the hard part yet...

I've been learning how to contact juggle; that's really kind of interesting, and once I get better I'll post a video of me doing it. Might not be for a while though.

My nano plans are going well, and if you haven't checked out my writing blog, you probably should. That's where all my writing updates will be going from now on.

I'm going to New York on Saturday, for my cousin's 6th birthday. It should be fun, even if we're only spending two days there and I'll be with my family the whole time. At least we're going to the giant toy store, right? I may or may not post pics while I'm there, but I'll definitely post some afterwards.

Until next time

Characters

So, now I have my three main characters.

Name: Kytari
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Species: Dragon
Appearance(Human)- Ky stands about 5'6, with a slender build. Her hair is silver, cut into a short pixie cut. She has purple eyes.
Appearance(Dragon)- As a dragon, Ky is tiny, about 6 feet long from tail to tip. She's evenly built though, and capable of carrying a rider, assuming that the rider is small and light. Her scales are silver, and her eyes are the same purple as her human form.
Personality: She's intensely private and doesn't like people in general. She doesn't trust lightly. She's prone to mood swings. When she's in a good mood, she's lots of fun. She can even be too crazy sometimes. But when she's upset, she's probably not going to be around, choosing to vanish and mope alone.

She's very truthful and will only lie when it benefits her, so she often insults people. It's not because she's cruel or because she doesn't know she insults them. She just doesn't care enough to bother making up a lie.

It takes her a long time to decide whether she likes someone or not. People she doesn't like or doesn't know don't exist for her. She sometimes comes on too strong, because when she finds someone she likes (and it happens very rarely) she wants to cling on to them.

Scent: Smells like dragon.

Name: Eoryn
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Species: Half Demon
Appearance: Curly, dark-red hair that goes a little past the shoulders. Normally worn loose. She has grey-ish eyes, but she insists that they’re lilac because they look that way in the light sometimes, though they probably aren’t. Masculine looking, about 5'8. Small silver horns.
Personality: A bit of a troublemaker, but can sweet talk her way out of almost anything. Kind of spiteful. Likes all the wrong people. Writes a lot. Likes painting as well. Kind of quiet, unless she thinks you're interesting, then she's a handful.

Scent: Cocoa butter, spices, smoke

Name: Arlynn
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Species: Half Demon
Appearance: Dark-red hair, wavy, shoulder-length and normally pulled back in a loose ponytail. Light grey eyes. Feminine looking, about 5'8. Small silver horns.
Personality: One of the most intelligent people one would ever meet. The type of person who sounds like they have an encyclopedic knowledge of everything, or that they're swallowed the dictionary and are slowly and methodically regurgitating it. Extremely polite and respectful, but with a surprising sense of humour and a playful streak that surprises most. Is friendly to everyone because he knows what it's like to be teased.

Scent: Old books, and smoke

Nanowrimo; Plot

It is July 30, and I have successfully come up with a plot for this years Nanowrimo. I'm a little pleased, personally, as this leaves me with three months to flesh out my characters, write an outline, and do any research that needs doing.

So, here it is in all its glory:

It's been 300 years since the Dragon Wars, and the silver dragon, Kytari, is still living on the mountain that she fled to after her mate was killed.

Her siblings are tired of this, and have hired a pair of thieves, twins, a boy and a girl, to convince her to return home.

She catches them going through her things, and, in her surprise of having visitors, allows the girl to pin her up against the wall while the boy continues to search for valuables. Finding nothing of importance, much to the thief's shock, he tells his sister that, and suggests that perhaps they could kill her instead, since there wasn't anything of interest for them there.

Kytari chimes in, telling them that this is all the treasure she needs, living all alone, off the land. They're skeptical, but when she offers them dinner, they accept.

The dragon doesn't seem to be depressed, which confuses the twins, and they become unsure of how they are to fulfill their employers request. The next day, she invites them to stay as long as they'd like, finding that she was really enjoying their company, and that she was, at least a little bit, lonely. They agree.

Eventually, they come to realize how good her life really is, but they know there's a lot missing and that they can provide it. They start to seduce her at the same time as they're re-introducing her to the world.

Unfortunately, something in faerie land has been stolen, and one of the faerie courts suspects the twins, and before any of them realize this, an ambassador of the Dawn court is at Kytari's home, demanding that they return the object to them, or the twins will be killed.

By this point, Kytari has become rather fond of the pair, and argues with the diplomat, and they eventually come to a compromise. If the trio can prove that they didn't steal anything, find the object, and return it to its owners, then they will be free and the Dawn Court will not bother them anymore.

During the quest, the three discover that its owners aren't, actually, the court that accused the twins of thievery. The real owners come forth, and the three have to forge a treaty between the two courts and themselves to stay alive, and to prevent war from breaking out.

Trial 1: Lime Infused Vodka

Today, I decided to try something new. I had read about infused liquors the other day, when I was reading through the Steampunk cookbook, Fuel for the Boiler, by Elizabeth Stockston, and when I realized that I had extra limes and leftover vodka from my recent party, thought that it would be an interesting experiments.

The ingredients I used were Vodka, and limes. Simple no? I juiced one of the limes, pouring it into the small container that I decided to use for a trial, not wanting to waste the vodka. I then cut up half of the other lime into small pieces, and added them to the lime juice. Finally, I filled the rest of the container up with vodka.

Now, all that's left is to wait a few days and see how it turns out. I'll post an update up when I try it out.

Repo!

So, I finally watched Repo the Genetic Opera. Blame my friend. It was her idea.

I've decided that I need a copy of the movie for myself, so it's now on my list of things to acquire. For a musical, it was kind of awesome. It's definitely the best one I've seen in a while.

I can't get the Zydrate Anatomy song out of my head. So, I'm going to post it here and you lot can have it stuck in your heads too.

Enjoy.

Geronimo!

So, the new doctor who was today. I think I'm going to like the new doctor, he's funny, and he doesn't look half bad. He's definitely got his own personality already, and he kind of reminds me of a librarian, but one of the ones that's always off going on adventures.

Now, to be honest, I think I'm seriously in lust with his new companion, Amy, she's a gorgeous redhead. Did I mention that I have a weakness towards redheads? I mean, sure, I watch it for the saving the world thing, and the daleks and all the strange adventures that he gets into, but I have to admit, she's worth watching too. :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season'll turn out, what with there being a new writer, but so far, so good. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Welcome

So, I'm Niko, and my friends have finally convinced me to start up a blog of my own. I don't know how often I'll update this thing, but I'm aiming for at least once a week.

Let's see, what can I tell you about myself.

I'm 23 years old, personally consider myself androgynous, and a major gamer. I prefer role-playing games of all types, from tabletop, to larp, to console based games. I'm a bit of a fanboy over Pokemon, and I've played almost all of the games, excluding the new ones, because I don 't own either of them yet.

Other than that, I'm an amateur artist, and a bit of a writer. I'm not really good at either, but I don't let that stop me. I'll probably post bits of writing here occasionally, drabbles mostly, but there might be some longer pieces.

Well, that covers everything I think, so that's that. Catch you all later!
